Property damage / Insurance claim

Your number one priority is the safety of you and your family.

For anything URGENT (where your property is uninhabitable or there are safety concerns), please contact your local ICIB office immediately to speak to one of our Claims Specialists or your Broker.

For NON-URGENT claims, please complete the claim form on our Claims page and one of our team will be in touch with you as soon as possible to support you through the claims process.

If you have suffered damage, follow these steps to help speed up recovery:

  • Do not do anything that puts your safety at risk or causes more damage to your property.
  • Take photos of damaged property to help speed up the assessments and claims process, and if safe, keep damaged items for assessment by your insurer.
  • Get essential services repaired and keep copies of invoices.
  • Make your home safe and sanitary but don’t do non-essential repairs.
  • Always wear protective gear, including gloves and masks, in case you’re exposed to hazardous material.

Please refer to the NZ Civil Defence agency for updated information: www.civildefence.govt.nz.

We also recommend you stay up to date by checking MetService warnings:
